No Survivors: NAF Names 25 Victims of Ondo Air Crash
ABUJA, October 6, 2026 — The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of the 25 people who died in Monday’s crash involving one of its ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ondo State, confirming that no survivors were found.
The aircraft, identified as NAF 931, was carrying five crew members and 20 passengers on a routine mission from Benin City to Lagos when it crashed. The updated figure represents a revision of earlier government reports that 32 people were believed to have been on board.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Force said search-and-rescue procedures were activated immediately after the accident and carried out in coordination with relevant authorities.
“No survivors have been found,” the NAF said.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, expressed condolences to the families, colleagues and loved ones of the victims, describing the crash as a deeply painful moment for the Nigerian Air Force and the country.
Aneke also assured the bereaved families of the Service’s support and ordered a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
